As a client and an investor, you want peace of mind that your advice firm is at the top of their game, giving you sound advice built on up-to-date and accurate knowledge, and that the service you are receiving is the financial planners’ equivalent to The Ritz Carlton.

At Capital, we are passionate about delivering an outstanding service to you and this is one of our core values that inspires everything we do and every decision we make. In the financial planning sector, being Chartered is the ‘gold standard’ that all financial planners and advice firms strive to achieve. Currently very few financial planning firms in the UK have achieved this coveted status.

Chartered status is granted by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), the professional body for insurance and financial services, as an objective mark of professional standing among all professions. Therefore, we were extremely proud to have been awarded corporate Chartered Financial Planner status in 2015 and won the Chartered Financial Planning Firm of the year award 2017/18 by the Personal Finance Society.

How does being Chartered benefit our clients?

The chartered status signifies that Capital has committed to:

  1. The highest levels of technical and professional knowledge and competence through professional qualifications

As a client, you have partnered with a highly qualified and knowledgeable financial planner to create your personal financial plan and the investment and tax strategy that underpins it.

Chartered status is only awarded to those financial planning organisations who can demonstrate they have a significant depth and range of knowledge to offer their clients. It is not easily achieved and takes continuous investment in customer service and commitment to professionalism to maintain.

  1. Keeping knowledge and skills up-to-date through continuing professional development

As a client, you can be assured that you receive the most accurate and up-to-date information and financial advice, and therefore your financial plan is as robust and relevant as it can be.

We never take our eye off the ball; all our financial planners’ qualifications are always kept up-to-date because they continue to learn through regular training and CII events and conferences.

  1. Ethical conduct through adhering to an industry code of ethics enforced through disciplinary sanctions

As a client, you can be certain that you receive the highest and most ethical professional standards, and that the advice you receive is always in your best interests and is fair. You may think this is obvious but sadly it is not always the case within the finance industry.

Every adviser at Capital is a member of the Personal Finance Society and must comply with its code of ethics and agree to:

  • Act with the highest ethical standards and integrity.
  • Act in the best interests of each client.
  • Provide a high standard of service.
  • Treat people fairly, regardless of age, disability or gender

At Capital, every individual financial planner is fully qualified to Chartered level. Indeed, several of our advisory team have achieved Fellowship status, the highest-level qualification possible for a financial planner to attain. Our team are the real ‘rocket scientists' of our profession but with the added bonus of being able to remove complexity for clients and communicate in plain English.

In 2016, approximately 5,000 of the 36,000 regulated financial planners have achieved Chartered status, and fewer than 708 firms have achieved Corporate Chartered Financial Planner status, out of around 5,600 regulated financial planning firms in the UK.

Being Chartered is just one way Capital ensure that we are at the top of our game for you as a valued client. We believe that by regularly training and developing our whole team, we will be well equipped to deliver an outstanding service that meets your every need.

So, everything from our communications, administration of your account, your financial reporting, and the overall service you receive is designed to be the very best it can be and we hope meets and even exceeds your expectations.

Here at Capital, we believe in investing in developing our business and people, to deliver a gold standard service to you and all our clients.
