Why I started out
I didn’t know I wanted to work as a financial planner, nor did I have any knowledge about the industry, however, I knew I wanted to do something that involved working closely with people to help change their lives for the better. I joined Capital in October 2015.
Enjoying my downtime
Most sports but mainly football; I’m a lifelong Manchester United fan. I’ve even been to several matches which by Manchester United fan standards puts me among the diehard elite.
World travel; I’m always looking for weird and wonderful places to visit. For me, there’s no greater thrill than arriving in a mysterious country with nothing more than a backpack and a few weeks to explore.
Those closest to me
I’m the middle of three boys. My father is a successful project manager, NLP practitioner and published business author and my mother works in IT (despite numerous discussions I still don’t really understand what she does – something to do with coding and mainframes). I also have a younger half-sister who is an incredibly talented pianist.
Tick off the list
I like to set myself goals and have an exact plan as to how I’m going to achieve them.
And then...
Witness the Aurora Borealis.
My number one dinner guest
Sir Alex Ferguson.
On the big screen
The Shawshank Redemption. No explanation necessary.
A really good read
Linchpin – Seth Godin. This book was a present from Capital when I joined and it has revolutionised the way I think.
There's no better place
Queenstown, New Zealand with my two closest friends.
What makes me laugh
Most active fund managers’ ability to consistently underperform their benchmarks.
And when I’m at the top of my game
Running around the streets of south-west London with my headphones in.
Oh, and by the way...
