Why I started out
I saw an ad in The Times for financial consultants. It sounded interesting, I wanted to work with people, had an economics degree and through the two would marry up. This led to me joining the Royal Bank of Scotland but the role was sales, not consultancy so I moved on after two years to become an independent consultant, not a salesman, joining Capital in October 2004.
Enjoying my downtime
Photography, cooking and travelling. But not at the same time.
Those closest to me
My partner Diana, and my two grown-up children.
Tick off the list
To get back in the saddle in preparation for my next big holiday.
Iceland – glaciers, geysers, volcanoes, geothermal energy and the northern lights.
Table for two
On the big screen
Top Gun – I love the 80’s.
A good read
The Great Gatsby – A book deeper than its 180 or so pages. You simply can’t buy happiness.
There's no better place
Sitting on the roof of a Land Rover at sunrise in the Tsavo National Park.
What makes me laugh
Observational comedy… I cry with laughter when the person and situation being described is me.
And when I’m at the top of my game
Cooking and entertaining.
Oh, and by the way...
