Client Administrator

I joined Capital in 2019, after working in financial services for a couple of years. Since joining Capital I have started working towards my Diploma in Financial Planning. My role at Capital consists on organising clients meetings, gathering client data and placing trades on behalf of the client.

From a young age, I’ve always wanted to explore the world, so in early 2019 I quit my job and went travelling for six months. I visited Australia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Sri Lanka. I had loads of great experiences (trekking up mountains in Indonesia, spending time preparing and eating meals with Vietnamese locals) as well as a few not-so-great ones (spending 14 hours squeezed in a local bus from Laos to Thailand).

I have plenty of hobbies, but my main love is football. I started playing at a young age and would like to think I’m much better than I really am, although I can admit that I don’t think an England call-up is coming any time soon. I play for my local 6-a-side team, and, though we’re constantly threatened with relegation, I enjoy playing with friends and the camaraderie that comes with being part of a team.

Additionally, I enjoy heading down to the south coast to watch my team, Brighton & Hove Albion, play at the AMEX. I’ve been saving for a season ticket and have plans to go to a few away games if they don’t get relegated.

I’ve always been interested in the economy and how money works. My dad works in the profession, and he taught me the importance of money and how to manage it. This curiosity led me to take Economics at A-Level, and then, finding I enjoyed studying money, I started a degree in Business and Management at the University of Portsmouth.

The course was incredibly varied, and I loved learning new concepts, from banking fundamentals to financial law intricacies. It may sound boring, but I loved it. It satisfied my curiosity and the broad range of topics helped me choose a career specialisation. After graduation, I was lucky to get my foot in the finance world’s door and work for one of the world’s largest fund management companies.

I gained valuable knowledge and experience across many different fields, but it didn’t take me long to realise that large companies are primarily concerned with hitting targets and reducing costs, often at the expense of the customer. I decided working for an international corporation just wasn’t for me. I wanted to work for a company where the customer comes first and everything else comes second. And then I found Capital.

I’m excited to grow my skills and develop in my career, but most of all, I’m excited to see what the future holds, and I believe Capital is the best place to find out.
