Financial planning is for life. In our Capital Life blog you can read our thoughts on key life moments and major financial decisions, from understanding risk and reward to giving the kids the right education and securing the retirement you want.
Marketing Executive
I was appointed the Marketing Executive of Capital in 2016, after gaining a couple years’ experience in Marketing roles after graduating my degree in 2014. Alongside my role, I am also completing a CIM Diploma in Digital Marketing to become Chartered. At Capital, my aim is to add value and enhance client experiences, and help more families to learn about Capital and the value we deliver.
Creativity has always been my flair ever since I was a little girl. My school teachers always described me as ‘imaginative’ and ‘very creative’, so it was no shock when I moved into a more creative direction with my education and career. I was never cut out to be a data administrator – the thought of spending hours on excel spreadsheets gives me the shivers.
Joining the company coincided with Capital’s latest thought-leadership campaign to challenge some aspects of financial services in the UK. Never a dull moment and even though I’m straight in at the deep end, this is what a marketing career is all about.
Outside of the office, I love nothing more than exploring and seeing the world. My placement year at University led me to wave goodbye to a grey and rainy England for a year of sunshine and beautiful beaches, exploring America, whilst working for Walt Disney World Florida. During the year, I visited some incredible cities and ended with a month-long road trip around the West Coast.
Later, like any twenty-something that has completed her degree and been grafting away in a graduate position for 14 months, I caught the travelling bug again and packed a backpack to take a spontaneous three months out to explore South East Asia. The trip included Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bali, and Singapore. It was incredible to see how different every culture and country is, from beautiful ancient and remote villages in Laos, to the modern and bizarrely clean, metropolitan city of Singapore, to full-moon parties in the islands of Thailand. I can’t wait to find out where my adventures take me next.
On a weekend, you’ll find me visiting new pop-ups, brunch spots and restaurants, and trying out new bars and clubs with friends. And when busy city life takes its toll after being squashed on the crowded District Line leaves me craving tranquillity, I turn to Yoga and Bounce.
With big plans for the next few years, the horizon for Capital is looking bright and I’m very excited to be part of the Capital team.
