Client Services Administrator
I joined Capital in 2017, after working in financial services for a couple of years. I am currently studying a Diploma in Financial Planning. My day to day duties involve liaising with clients and providers, submitting new business and general office administration.
I joined the Capital team after embarking on an exciting new adventure and relocating to London.
From an early age I have always been interested in financial services. I can remember sitting in on meetings my parents had with their financial adviser at our home. I must admit though, I didn’t have a clue what they were talking about, but I was intrigued to say the least. This curiosity lead me to take economics at college which I continued to study at university. I really enjoyed the variety and continually learning new ideas within the broader subject.
After a long three years studying at university, I decided I wanted to explore more of the world, so I took the plunge and went to South East Asia for three months. I travelled across Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia and Singapore. I enjoyed many highs such as trekking with elephants in Thailand and preparing and eating food with the locals in Vietnam. But missing my connecting bus in Singapore trying to get some bargain brandy through customs for my dad was definitely not a highlight!
After graduating from university, when I returned from travelling, I was looking for a job to get my foot in the door within the finance industry. I was fortunate enough to spend the last two years contracting for one of the largest international banks. Working on a variety of projects, I was able to gain valuable knowledge and experience across many different fields within the industry. I quickly realised that working for a large multinational corporation wasn’t the right fit for me. I witnessed numerous cases where clients were not put first and people cut corners just to hit targets. Even more of a reason why I am excited to start my career at Capital.
Outside of work I enjoy many hobbies, the main one being tennis. I took it up at the age of five and you would think I would be a lot better than I am having played for so long, but I don’t think a call up to Wimbledon is on the cards anytime soon. As I was clearly not going to be the next Andy Murray, at the age of thirteen I decided to coach to get a bit of extra pocket money. I am also a big Arsenal fan, and having recently moved to London, I am looking forward to seeing a few games now the Emirates stadium is on my doorstep. Another passion of mine is eating out and as we are spoilt for choice in London, I am looking forward to taking full advantage of that.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds and I am looking forward to taking my career to the next stage and what better way to do that than with Capital.
