5 things you should know about Capital

2 minute read

Here are the five things you should know before appointing Capital as your trusted financial planning firm:

1. All our clients are known by name, not by number

We believe that knowing our clients inside and out enables us to provide the best financial planning advice. Therefore, our chartered financial planners take on no more than 50 client families each. This ensures we have enough time to deliver the most personal service to our clients. That’s a refreshing change.

2. Our mission is to grow

It is our mission to help as many families as possible to achieve their life goals and dreams. We are always looking to be introduced to more families who can benefit from great financial planning. The Capital team is growing, and we are constantly recruiting and nurturing talented individuals. This helps us to maintain our philosophy, values, and quality, whilst welcoming new clients to the Capital family. After all, we need to serve you for decades to come.

3. We do evidence-based investing

Investing is full of buzz words like passive and active, alpha and beta. It can get rather confusing to know what is right or wrong. Our investing is neither active nor passive. We do not believe in guesswork, hunches, or predicting, and we do not believe in investing blind.

Evidence-based investing is an approach grounded in empirical research and the long-term observation of markets and how they work. Your portfolio will be highly diversified across industries and continents. The portfolios we put together are low-cost and will ensure optimum performance in the long-term.

4. You pay for what you need

Your circumstances are unique, so we believe the service you receive and the fee you pay should be unique too. Your value-based subscription fee is based on the services you require and the complexity of your situation. We use a system called VECTOR to calculate your fee, based on the value-added aspects of our relationship. It is a flat, annual subscription, agreed with you each year in pounds. Your core service includes:

- your own dedicated financial planning team

- comprehensive financial planning and a personal roadmap

- a robust investment portfolio

- an annual planning meeting

- access to our wealth network

- the annual ISA service

Additional services include retirement planning, catastrophe planning, and saving for school fees, among others. You can pick and choose your additional services as and when you need them. As your life evolves, you can increase or decrease the services you need.

5. We do real financial life planning

Unlike some financial advisers, we pride ourselves on financial life planning. We delve into the hidden depths of your life to identify your hopes, ambitions, goals, and expectations. We analyse this information to design your personal roadmap and financial plan. Your roadmap is a lifelong financial plan designed only for you. With your ambitions at its centre, the plan explores the difficult questions, anticipating change and building in contingency plans. It is a guide for your future that shows you the road ahead and gives you confidence about getting to your destination safely. We’ll meet regularly to fine-tune your plan and make sure it’s always pointed directly at your goals, so you never lose sight of them.
